Most people see their sheds as purely practical additions to their homes and use them to store tools, garden furniture, paint and other such things in. However, some individuals are breaking the mould when it comes to these outdoor additions to homes.

For example, Paul Siudowski has spent 4,000 creating a 1950s diner style shed in his garden. The impressive creation, which is adorned with various items of memorabilia, has special booth seating in and can accommodate 24 people, the Daily Mail reports.

It also contains a variety of posters, popcorn and jellybean machines and a classic jukebox. Meanwhile, there are a number of American licence plates and adverts for Budweiser beer hanging from the ceiling to complete the look. According to its owner, people who visit the shed are often shocked because from the outside, it appears completely normal.

Of course, getting sheds to look like this is no easy feat. Mr Siudowski spent a year making the alterations and revealed this caused some tension in his home. He remarked: “It caused quite a lot of arguments because of the amount of time I was working on it, but now my wife Jessica thinks it is great.”

The 51-year-old is not the only individual to have been busily working away to create the perfect sheds. For example, Dave Lockett has converted his small shed on the Isle of Man into a Caribbean rum shack. Visitors can sample a good selection of beers, with two hand pumps delivering a local ale and his own home brew, while another tap provides larger. The construction is also decorated appropriately to get guests into the spirit.

As well as pubs and diners, outhouses can make great offices for people to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the hubbub of their main homes and get on with some work.
